Indiana state senator calls for repayment of legitimate unemployment benefits to stop

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — State Sen. Karen Tallian is calling for Indiana to halt demanding repayment of legitimate unemployment benefits that were paid retired during the pandemic.

“A batch of this messiness is bureaucratic messiness wrong [the Department of Workforce Development],” Tallian said.

In an op-ed she penned implicit the weekend, she wrote: “Placing this level of fiscal accent connected Hoosier families is unnecessary, arsenic the national authorities besides gave states the authorization to WAIVE those re-payments.”
